Examination Requirements
New applicants will be given a User ID and Password when they register for an examination, you will require this password to retrieve your result following the examination. Registration for examinations must be done by visiting an AIC office or by telephone at either the Edmonton or Calgary office of the AIC. We respect your right to privacy and as a result Examination results will not be provided by telephone.
Examinations for all classes of certificates are held weekly at the Calgary and Edmonton offices of the Alberta Insurance Council. These examinations are held on Mondays. If Monday is a Statutory Holiday the examinations are held on Tuesday.
The AIC also arranges for examinations to be held in Grande Prairie and Lethbridge on the last Tuesday of each month. Additionally, examinations are held in Red Deer the third Wednesday of each month. Complete details are available in the link marked Examination Schedules and Locations at the left.
Registration for examinations can be done by visiting an AIC office or by telephone at either the Edmonton or Calgary office of the AIC. Payment of the sitting fee must be made by either Visa or MasterCard if the registration is completed by telephone.
- Applicants should be aware that examination fees are non-refundable.
- Washroom breaks are not allowed during the course of any examination written in Alberta.
- If you have medical or other conditions which require special consideration, please inform our office when registering. NO Exceptions to this requirement will be made at normal examination sittings.
- Cellular telephone, PDA's and other electronic devices are not allowed in the examination room.
RESULTS, All examinations are scored using an optical reader, in Edmonton and Calgary results are generally provided within two days of the examination. If you wrote your examination in another centre the results will be delayed by shipping times.
